This Bone Broth Rice is a nutrient-rich, anti-inflammatory, and high-protein meal base that supports gut health, joint health, and digestive wellness. By using bone broth instead of water, you’re adding a deep umami flavor and a natural boost of protein, collagen, and minerals—making it a nourishing addition to your meals. It’s gluten-free, dairy-free, and a great way to turn simple rice into a fiber-rich, gut-friendly staple by chilling it to form resistant starch.
Ingredients:
1 cup jasmine rice
1.5 cups bone broth (chicken or beef)
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add 1 tbsp olive oil.
Add rinsed rice to the pan, stirring gently to coat the grains.
Pour in the bone broth and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, reduce heat to low.
Cover with a tight-fitting lid and simmer for 16 minutes—do not lift the lid during this time.
After 16 minutes, remove the pot from heat and let it sit (still covered) for 10 minutes to finish steaming.
Fluff with a fork or transfer directly to your container.
TIP: For added gut health benefits, cool the rice in the refrigerator to convert starches into resistant starch, which increases fiber content and promotes the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.
